Our Future

Liztowne is out camping/biking in France so we decided to give this a pv fam related purpose. We have this plan to re-locate to France, so that LT and I can make a living baking delicious breads. Since we didn't want to be so far from everyone else, we decided Chris and Betsy can have their winery/brewery next door. Matt Floyd is submitting a resume for manager of this delicious establishment. We still need a delivery boy...how fun would it be to have a charming bicyclist deliver freshly baked bread to all the town? Poetzl, you game?

The one problem is that I'm the only one who speaks French. We'll work around that I guess.

I will start learning all the possible variations of, "I have brought your baguettes."

And do I get to grow a slim French moustache, too?

If you don't understand us, you probably don't belong here. It all started in January of 2010. I (Kate) thought Floyd was Matthew's first name, and that Liz's last name really was Towne. Chris was coming back from a wrist injury and Poetzl was really hoping we'd tell him a joke. We stuck together, and on spring break, we realized that we were a family. He got gas and I hung back as Floyd, Chris, and Liztowne all took a family photo in a McDonald's. From then on, the pole vault fam was born. Next year, we adopted Besty, who jumped in as though she'd never missed a beat. We all bonded over a little Avril Lavigne, wondering why you had to go and make things so complicated. Our beloved Pookie had left, but our teammate became our coach, showing up in sweater vests and tossing frisbees with Matt. At outdoor conference, Betsy met Pookie and true kinship was revealed. Betsy, Liztowne, and I formed the pvfam contingent of BCXC, and before long it was time for the pole vault family dinner. I had my first wine and we ate vegetarian lasagne and after that, everything changed. And nothing did. Although we no longer vault all together or even see each other on a regular basis, the pole vault fam will live on in our hearts, and on the internet. We love each other a whole lot and are sometimes creative about showing it. Whether it's manly black ghetto pole ties or super healthy nutella peanut butter cookies, we've got each others' backs. 4lyfe.
